Born in 1950 Alex Corina studied
at the Regional College of Art in Bradford before moving to Liverpool
20 years ago. Alex is best known for his picture the Mona Lennon,
which represents Liverpool's Past, Present and Future but also symbolises
its aspirations. His work aims to capture the spirit and humour of
the City in the run up to the Capital of Culture 2008.
"My recent work is experimental combining material and borrowing
techniques from painting, drawing, collage and photography. As well
as portraiture my work explores the dynamic between the apparent
immortality of art, and recycling.
Alex Corina
